Commissioning Body

Phoenix Walk-in Centre is commissioned by Wolverhampton Clinical Commissioning Group, which is responsible for all funding arrangements and is ultimately responsible for deciding the future of the service provision. However, decisions will not be made in isolation of the wider stakeholders.

Contract/Service Review Date

This service is run by The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT). The contract is part of the core RWT contract and does not expire as such; instead, the service is reviewed periodically. A review of the service and how it forms part of the whole urgent care system was undertaken in 2013 as part of the development of the city-wide Urgent and Emergency Care Strategy.

The next review will take place in 2016, once changes to the urgent care system have taken place, so that changes in patterns of patient activity can be included. This review will be undertaken by Wolverhampton Clinical Commissioning Group (WCCG) via the Urgent Care Working Group for the city. The Urgent Care Working Group consists of clinical and non-clinical stakeholders from RWT Acute and Community Services, WCCG, City of Wolverhampton Council, mental health providers and Public Health.
