General Practitioner vacancies - Tudor Medical Centre

Sessions: 4 - 9 per week

Opportunities have arisen due to the imminent retirement of two GPs at our friendly Practice. We are based across 4 recently refurbished sites at Tudor Medical Centre (Heath Town), Wellington Road Surgery (Bilston), Leicester Street Medical Centre (Whitmore Reans) & Owen Road Medical Centre (Pennfields).

We are a busy and dynamic practice offering high standards of clinical care with a progressive and friendly community orientated approach.

All sites are fully equipped to offer a full range of services to our patients. We currently have 12 GPs, 3 Nurse Practitioners, 1 Clinical Pharmacist, 3 Urgent Care Practitioners, 4 Practice Nurses and 2 HCAs. In addition, we have a skilled reception and admin team that offer a full range of administration support to clinical staff. Management team includes a Business Consultant & Manager.

Informal visits welcome

Applicants need to be flexible, adaptable and able to work well with healthcare professionals in the exercise as well as with patients from a wide variety of backgrounds. You must be well organised, confident and able to work on your own initiative.

Practice Premises

The Tudor Medical Centre group is a large GP practice in Wolverhampton and takes pride in its working environment. The Practice is situated over 4 sites, all within Wolverhampton City and within close proximity to each other. They are:

  • Wellington Road Surgery, 67 Wellington Road, Bilston, WV14 6AQ
  • Leicester Street Medical Centre, Leicester Street, Whitmore Reans, WV6 0PS
  • Owen Road Medical Centre, 130 Owen Road, Pennfields, WV3 0AJ

The Practice employs a wealth of multidisciplinary team members including We currently have 12 GPs, 3 Nurse Practitioners (2 Diabetic Specialist Nurses), 1 Clinical Pharmacist, 3 Urgent Care Practitioners, 4 Practice Nurses and 2 HCAs. In addition, we have a skilled reception and admin team that offer a full range of administration support to clinical staff. Management team includes a Consultant & Manager.

Geographical Location
  • All sites are centrally located close to the city centre, with excellent nearby amenities, infrastructure and public transport links.
  • The practices can be accessed from Junction 10 or 12 of the M6 with ease.

Areas of Practice Specialisms

  • Minor Surgery & Joint Injections
  • Family Planning including fitting and removal of coils and implants
  • GP Specialist training, foundation training, nurse practitioners and independent prescribers including pharmacists. One of our General Practitioners is a Training Programme Director for the GP VTS
  • We are in the process of becoming a teaching practice for Medical Undergraduate students

PLT & Examples

  • Monthly Team W meetings are arranged by Wolverhampton CCG and available to all GPs.
  • All of our team have access to Bluestream Academy online to fulfil all mandatory and non essential training using a simple and robust interface
  • GPs attend bi-weekly clinical meetings on site
  • Applications for study leave courses are welcomed and funding is provided where appropriate.

Demonstrations of Innovation

  • All doctors work across all 4 sites ensuring each day is different and not stagnant
  • We are an innovative, paperless practice and we are always looking to improve
  • A single EMIS Web system across all sites provides smooth continuity and ease of communication between all members of the team
  • There is a single Docman system across all sites
  • Referral letters are created via Lexacom dictation software which can also be installed on an android or apple device and dictations can be completed remotely
  • All tasks, queries and workflow are processed via the EMIS system and into a single pool
  • All GPs have access to an online training portal via our own website
