In November, we are supporting the national campaign for self-care week (16-22 November). This week is also about supporting people to better look after their own health. Empowering individuals to self-care has many benefits for their short term and long term health and this is important since people are living longer.

AGM 2015 success

On Wednesday 29 July, the CCG held its second Annual General Meeting (AGM).  The meeting was held in the afternoon at the Molineux Stadium and attracted over 120 people.

Majority of the people who attended were public/patient members and others were associated with voluntary or other organisations, such as Healthwatch, Kaleidoscope Plus Group, Zebra Access, Over 50s Forum, as well as councillors and GPs.

Wolverhampton woman wins Patient Champion of the Year award

Marlene Lambeth has been awarded the first ‘Patient Champion of the Year’ award from Wolverhampton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) at their Annual General Meeting (AGM).

She was given the award because of her dedication and commitment to improving services for patients, organising community events relating to healthcare, and offering commissioners vital insight from a patients’ point of view.

Wolverhampton healthcare commissioners agree service changes in efficiency review

Healthcare commissioners in Wolverhampton have agreed changes to a number of services after giving residents the opportunity to have their say.

The NHS has to reduce its costs to balance its budget, with a national shortfall of £30 billion over the next five years.

In Wolverhampton, this means the city’s Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) – which is led by local doctors, nurses and lay members and funds healthcare services for about 250,000 people  – needs to reduce its spend by £37 million over the next five financial years.
