CCG reassures public on urgent care centre performance

Dr Helen Hibbs, at NHS Wolverhampton Clinical Commissioning Group, said:

“Patients in Wolverhampton deserve the highest quality of healthcare and we are taking the strongest action possible to drive up performance at our urgent care centre. We welcome the findings of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and are working closely with Vocare, our urgent care centre provider, to ensure that the areas identified by the CQC are fully actioned and addressed.

“Our commitment is that patients receive a safe, reliable and timely service and  we are working with the CQC, NHSE, public Health and Healthwatch as well as Vocare to ensure performance, quality and safety are improved.

"The urgent care centre (UCC) is run by Vocare and whilst it is situated in New Cross Hospital, it is not run by The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT).

“An action plan is in place which aims to significantly raise Vocare’s standards of performance and governance so that the patients of Wolverhampton receive the care they deserve from a local NHS service."
