NHS Wolverhampton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is delighted to announce that Claire Skidmore, Chief Finance and Operating Officer, has been shortlisted for the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Finance Director of the Year Award 2016.
NHS Wolverhampton CCG is the only CCG in the region to be represented in the shortlist of this nationally prestigious award.
Like other CCGs across the country, NHS Wolverhampton CCG has experienced significant financial pressures, but Claire has steered the CCG into a dramatically improved financial position by a significant transformation in the way the organisation works.
Trisha Curran, Interim Accountable Officer for NHS Wolverhampton CCG said, ‘Claire’s work around efficiency has enabled us to remain in financial balance and her on-going work ensures we are investing in the right services and initiatives for the people of Wolverhampton.’
Claire will be attending the HFMA Awards on Thursday 8 December along with other shortlisted nominees for categories such as Governance Award, Accounts Team of the Year and Working with Finance – Clinician of the Year.
The HFMA are National Healthcare Finance Awards celebrate excellence in finance departments across the country showcasing best practice and achievement in financial management and governance.
NHS Wolverhampton CCG was rated as Outstanding for the year 2015/2016 by NHS England. This put the CCG in the top 5% of CCG’s in the country. The rating was awarded specifically for the organisations outstanding leadership and finance.
